The Hammonds Plains Community Centre is located in the heart of Hammonds Plains, 2041 Hammonds Plains Road at Glen Arbour Way. We are 27 minutes from Halifax downtown or international airport.

All rentals include:
– use of tables & chairs. Renter is responsible for set up and tear down.
– a free 30-minutes before & after your rental time for set up and tear down.

Rates are per space: Firefighters Hall or Kitchen/Meeting Room.

– Damage/Cleaning Deposit – required on some rentals, as indicated on your invoice.  This deposit is fully refundable after the hall is inspected after your rental, assuming no issues.
– Booking Deposit – 25% of your rental fee is due within 7 days of booking in order to secure your date.  This fee is non-refundable should you cancel your rental.

1) Facility Rentals

The Firefighters' Hall occupies most of our main floor and has two areas. The Main Room measures approximately 38 x 46' and has a 12 x 12' stage. It's the perfect venue for meetings, receptions, dances, or other activities. The Reception Room measures approximately 23 x 26' and is great area to stage your food service, access bar service or can be used for additional seating. The Meeting Room/Kitchen is located on the main floor and is newly renovated in 2016. It is approximately 323 square feet and measures approx 17 x 19'. The kitchen features a fridge, double oven range and a commercial dishwasher. The meeting room features 12 comfortable leather chairs and can be set up boardroom, classroom or theatre style.. There is a ceiling mounted high definition projector.

Event with Bar Service

$499 + HST

Bartenders included!

The Hammonds Plains Community Centre is a great place to celebrate your wedding, anniversary, adult birthday party, retirement, office/Holiday Party, or any other special event that requires bar service.  This package includes access to the Firefighters’ Hall Saturday from 5pm to decorate if required, and then to host your event.

Package includes:

  • Access to Firefighters Hall 5:00pm to midnight.
  • Kitchen available (extra $)
  • Bar Service:
    • Bar Staff included – five hours
    • Liquor License
  • Cleaning after the event (up to four hours)

NOTE:  price indicated on the booking app includes HST.

Non-Alcohol Event

$349 + HST

The Hammonds Plains Community Centre is a great place to host a party.

Package includes:

  • Access to Firefighters Hall 5:00pm to midnight.
  • Kitchen available (extra $)
  • Bar Service:
    • Soft-Drink Service available (option).
  • Cleaning after the event (up to four hours)
  • A damage and cleaning deposit of $200 minimum is required.

NOTE:  price indicated on the booking app includes HST and the refundable damage deposit of $200.

Party ‘n’ Go Packages

$95 to $275 + HST

The Hammonds Plains Community Centre is a great place to host your kids or adult birthday parties, baby or wedding showers, and corporate meetings.  The Party ‘n’ Goo Packages include access to either the Firefighters’ Hall or Multi-Purpose Meeting Room/Kitchen, and staff cleaning after your event.

2) Event Services

Kitchen Add-On

$35 - 115 +HST

If you are renting the Firefighter’s Hall, you can add on a rental of our fully renovated kitchen for cold storage, reheating or full food preparation purposes.

Package Price including cleaning:

  • Non-food prep (up to 3 hours):  $35
  • Non-food prep (over 3 hours):  $65
  • Food Preparation:  $115

Tablecloths

$115 +HST

We’ll supply the tablecloths and include laundering after your event.

Coffee Urn Rental

$20 +HST per urn

We have two 100-cup urns available to rent.

Cleaning included.  $25 damage deposit.

Coffee/Tea Service

$1.75 +HST per person (min 40 people)

Why not let us look after coffee and tea for you!  We’ll make the coffee and hot water for tea in our urns.  We’ll supply the milk and cream and disposable cups, and have it all set up prior to your event.

Dishes

$1.25 +HST per person

Looking for more style than disposables?  We have dishes and cutlery available to rent.

Dishes are to be returned clean or we can quote you an additional cleaning fee.  $100 damage/cleaning deposit.

Wine Carafe

$1.25 +HST per carafe

A great solution for if you’re having wine or juice at the table.

To be returned clean.

Audio System

$60 +HST

We can set up a PA-system for your event which include a speaker, mixer and up to 5 microphones.   For full description, please click here.

 

Projector & Screen

$35 +HST
  • Pro-quality projector, 1080p Plus /WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200) offers 4.5x more resolution than SVGA for full HD 1080p content.
  • Wireless, project from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone without plugging into the projector, so you can move freely about the room.

Catering

We can refer you to a caterer if needed.

DJ

We can refer you to a DJ if needed.

Transportation

We can refer you if transportation is needed.

3) Other Services

HPCC Annual Membership

$20 per year

Show your support for Hammonds Plains Community Centre by becoming a member of the society. Membership is open to people who meet all of the following criteria:

– Support the objectives of the society;
– Their name and address is written in the Register of Members by the secretary;
– Reside in the geographic area of Hammonds Plains (between highways 101, 102, and 103);
– Pay an annual fee of $20/year; and
– Are approved by a majority vote of members at a general or special meeting.

Your card will be billed annually until you cancel your membership. You will be entitled to $20 off your first rental each year.

4) Sign Rentals

Advertise your event at Hammonds Plains Community Centre on one of our signs. Be seen by 20,000 vehicles a day!

Contact us

With over 20,000 vehicles per day passing by our highly visible sign, consider advertising your event at Hammonds Plains Community Centre and you will reach a very large audience.  Rentals are only offered on a weekly basis.

  • Discounts available for Not-for-Profits.
  • Rental Policy: the sign supports events and activities at HPCC and is rented at the discretion of HPCC.  All messages are subject to final approval by HPCC.  HPCC may cancel or postpone a sign rental with a minimum 2 weeks’ notice.  Fees are due in advance of the rental and may be cancelled if payment is not received.
